First Saturday of each month:

UAS FAA Part 107 Pilot Exam prep (10am – 12pm)

The first step in becoming a commercial drone pilot is obtaining a drone pilot's license. Drones for Hire provides all the support you need to successfully pass the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) part 107 Drone pilot exam;

Introduction to remote piloting and necessary FAA Part 107 study material*.
Remote Pilot exam study groups.

One-on-one tutoring from an FAA-licensed flight instructor.

*The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules for small unmanned aircraft (UAS) operations other than model aircraft –Part 107 of FAA regulations – cover a broad spectrum of commercial and government uses for drones weighing less than 55 pounds. Here are the highlights of the rule.

UAS flight Training (1pm – 4pm)

Our comprehensive flight training program ensures all DFH pilots meet the highest standards of safety and professionalism when operating our drones. DFH UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) flight training includes:

UAS Flight Simulator training which provides new UAS pilots a safe environment to master basic flight maneuvers.
Hands-on flight instruction using state-of-the-art multirotor and fixed winged unmanned aircraft.
Pilot Check Ride – All pilots are required to pass a check ride (a practical test of accumulated aviation skills) for rental of commercial aircraft. Certificate granted upon successful completion.

Second Saturday of each month:

Build a Drone Zone (10am – 4pm)

Once a month DFH experts walk members through the technology and process of building a drone. Members participate in assembly of the aircraft and learn to fly it. The new aircraft is added to the DFH fleet for members to use.

The DFH warehouse facility is open to members during "Build a Drone Zone" to participate in UAS related development projects that further the industry, empower, educate, and inspire.

Commercial demands for UAS services are continuously growing. The "DFH UAS Product and Service Training Program" provides a hands-on solution to learning the business and technology details required to compete in the UAS market. Each month DFH staff and contractors share their professional experience and business insight in a classroom and in-field settings. Class content mirrors the professional services DFH offers in these domains:

Precision Agriculture
Aerial Photography
Film
- Documentaries
- Real estate
Industrial automation
- Aerial inspections
- Search and Rescue
Aerial Surveys

Monthly Fly-in (10am – 4pm)

Each month DFH members gather at the DFH private 5 acre test site in LaGrange, CA. Members enjoy a day of flying everything from large multi-rotor to small racing drones. Flying instruction and flight competitions grow and test members' skills while building community.
